And, well... I'm building DUBBLE to put my exploding ideas and somehow expecting other people to appreciate and criticize my works..
Why the domain name is dubblenumbertwo?
I was intended to give the name DAMP DOODLE, but waht with the damp? nothing's wet here.. I tried some name combination, then from the name, DAMP DOODLE, I got 2Ds and modified them into 'twoDs' or 'DoubleDs' until I get this DUBBLE name.
Unfortunately, there's a british bubblegum called DUBBLE BUBBLE, and domain with the name DUBBLE, and DUBBLE2, and maybe 3, 4, 5 as well.. then, you already knew..
And actually, the concept of DUBBLE is human emotion, many kinds of emotion, that's why I often presented them in the form of children stories with dark atmosphere. This concept I build were influenced by some artist, like Alex Pardee, an American artist with dark style which had done some works for The Used's album, and Alex Somers (another Alex?), an Icelandic artist which is very brilliant in arts.
Human emotion? Why does it have something to do with children?
Well, children have many explosion of short burst emotions, the cried easily, and get pleased easily as well. Jon Burgerman, a doodle artist with funny taste and good sense of music said, "kids are cool!", children's imagination are wonderful..
and.. isn't a child's imagination indicating his level of creativity?
and such a great lost that we couldn't record all of our imagination when we were a child.
Luckily for me, I remembered clearly some of my childhood memories which was full of imagination.. I still remember I create my own Crash Bandicoot game, creating an ice cream shop from the paper, imagining some great events happened in my school, and imagining something that I still imagined until today, conquering the world.. wicked!
and yeah, all artist creative works are made from his/her imagination, dreams, experience, and other influences.. in other words, an artist creation reflecting himself, an original product..
Okay, the concept's fine, what about other kinds of arts?
I'm doing other kinds of arts as well, because I always appreciate arts, but.. I'm saying this without harm.. I doesn't really approve arts which is being 'in'.. like nowadays, modern arts like vector arts, stencils, photography, graffiti, 3d arts, etc. are being too.. you know, too many artist.. well, once again, I meant no harm, but I think, artists who's on these world should have done some innovations. and by that, I would gracefully approved them. (even though my approval means nothing, I'm just an unnamed artist, so please don't mind what I've been talking..)
Does it mean that I/you hate those arts?
No I'm not, I like those, they're beautiful, but beautiful only isn't enough..
One thing came into my note, "art's not simply something that looking good, but something which have meaning(s) in every elements it had".
And I really hate copycats.. It's allright to be influenced A LOT.. but most people doesn't understand the difference between influenced and copying..
It's hard to be original you know! I were always trying to do so, but all I got, is a disappointment.. It really kills me when I watched other people got appreciated by copying other people works while I'm working so hard to be 'original', but disapproved..
Well, I've been talking too much, let's get back to DUBBLE, and I hope you enjoyed my works..
